Isn't this word a bit more audible nowadays ? Expectations; a huge word which comes with a huge heartbreak. Keeping it is like reading a chaotic book, always opposite.
I recently, truly realised that expectations are meant to be broken. Things just don't take the path which we want them to.
We keep 'expecting' that things would get better and everything will align itself back but it's as if some part of this universe is always against us, always paradoxical that change s the entire path of our expected happenings.
Hoping is a completely different thing which is very often confused with expecting. To hope is to switch on that part of your life which has remained dark almost all the times and you believe that it will be the cause of your ruin but to expect is to want something a bit lesser than a desire and then grieving over it when it doesn't go that way.
Expectations take you to a world where you want to be whereas hoping takes a you to a place where you wish to be. That is the reason why hoping comes with a minimal and bearable amount of sadness.
Nevertheless it is ultimately the human tendency to expect and to fall, to expect and to learn. Learning isn't bad but learning after consuming so much of sadness everytime is quite wrong.
Hope for the best and expect for the less- that's going to work, isn't it ?
